I was just practicing for "The Horror", Paul...not a topic, as you know, that will come easily to me.

"A sudden thought of one so pale...Laugh'd the blue eyes without a stain" made me think of her, play with a photo of her.

She hangs in my foyer. I see those dead blue eyes many times a day....she came from an old circus fortune telling booth...a thrift shop find that I treasure. Her face is painted plaster but her turban and shoulders are stuffed fabric...and her jewels are the rhinestones of the era....not to mention the odd turkey feather that someone here sticks behind her ear now and then.

I suspect hearing one's fortune told could be a horror. : )

She's just superb, Pat. Luminous. The surface is amazing too--is that called craquelure?
